What is Lead Scoring?

Lead Scoring may sound impersonal, but it's not about ranking people on a personal level, it's just a score that shows you how much interest that person is showing in your product and how likely that person is to convert into a sale. Once the lead score hits a certain goal value its converted into an opportunity where your sales team can come in and close the deal. By prioritizing leads based on their interest you waste less time on the people who aren't (which is a waste of time anyway).
